ComLuv Community Building

by Stephanie Suesan Smith on July 13, 2010

Blogs do not happen in isolation.  It is a lot more fun to interact with a community that comments on your blogs, adds information, asks questions, and becomes a cohesive whole than it is to post in a vacuum.  A major aid to building community is the CommentLuv plugin for WordPress.  This plugin allows you to leave behind a link with your comment that provides a glimpse into what kind of blog you have.

Better, people can follow the link back to your blog for more information.  They leave a comment, and after a while you come to know them.  The set of blog owners that trade comments become a community.  The readers of these blogs become a community.  Read one approach to fostering this community on ComLuv.com as part of the CommentLuv/Famous Bloggers contest.  I get points for how many comments I receive and how many times my article is tweeted and retweeted, so please join in our community by doing that.

It takes a while to build up a blogging community and a lot of people get frustrated with it after a few months. But if you are patient and give it time, you will find that readership gradually grows.
