Last year, Renee’s Garden Seeds allowed members of the garden press to get seeds for free, up to a fairly generous amount. There were flowers, vegetables, and herbs to choose from. I took advantage of that offer and got a bunch of herb seeds as well as bell peppers. I also got a package of an heirloom tomato called Tasmanian Chocolate to grow.

Good Growth

All of the seed packets I got grew out well. I planted them a bit early for my area and a late freeze damaged the peppers. They never recovered, and never had fruit.

Tomatoes Baked

The tomato plants were victims of excessive heat. It went from freezing to boiling in my area of Texas, and the tomatoes would not set fruit in the extreme heat. They did have lots of blooms on them. I did not pull the plants up until November, hoping they would have fall tomatoes. No luck, but I did have really big tomato vines covered with flowers.

Herbs and Herbs

The herbs thrived. I did not know Italian Genovese Basil could get to a height of five feet. I had no trouble with the other herbs I planted: French Rosemary, Culinary Sage, Italian Large Leaf Parsley, True Greek Oregano, and French Thyme.

Save Seeds

Many of the seeds Renee’s Garden has are heirloom, open-pollinated varieties. That means you will be able to gather their seeds and plant them again each year.

Good Service

I was very satisfied with the service at Renee’s Garden Seeds. I bought some seeds this December and they got lost in the mail. When I mentioned I had not gotten them after two weeks, Renee’s sent me the seeds again. I got them this time. I thought it was nice that my problem was resolved so quickly.

If you are looking for a good place to buy your garden seed this year, Renee’s Garden is a great place to start.

Cover of Vegetable Gardening From The Ground Up

Want to learn to garden? My first attempt at gardening ended up in failure. The weeds took over and squeezed the vegetables out. I was very frustrated by this waste of good seed, time, and money. So I became a master gardener and spent a lot of time helping other people avoid or overcome problems in their garden.

In order to help others garden successfully, I have written a book, Vegetable Gardening from the Ground Up, available in an ebook or a paperback from Amazon. It is also in Kindle Unlimited.
